Wow! There are movie stars here!
If you were here,we might run into your favorite TV or movie star because many actors and actresses live and work in Los Angeles! Even if you don’t see your favorite, we could look for their “star” on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, or for their handprint or footprint in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre where many of the most important movies make their premiere! We could even visit the famous Hollywood Sign which is one of the area’s most well-known landmarks! In the meantime, however, you can find more information on these and other famous Hollywood sites here.

Take the stage!
If you like music, dance or theater, then a visit to the Los Angeles Music Center may be for you! The Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Opera perform here along with renowned dance and theater companies.
In the ball park!
If you like sports, maybe you could “catch” a ball game! Los Angeles has a major league baseball team called the Dodgers. In addition, there are two professional basketball teams, the Lakers and the Clippers, a soccer team, the Los Angeles Galaxy, and an ice hockey team called the Kings.
Are you easily ammused?
We could visit one of the many amusement parks in the Los Angeles area if you were here! You could meet your favorite Disney characterat Disneyland. You could also visit Camp Snoopy, which is home to the Peanuts gang, at Knott's Berry Farm. And, we could seek some thrills together at Six Flags Magic Mountain. And, WOW! In addition to the many rides, we could see movies being made at Universal Studios if you were here.
Dolls are welcome!
Girls can have fun at American Girl Place Los Angeles! You can treat your American Girl doll to a new hairdo in the Doll Hair Salon! Afterwards, you can see a live musical together! And, to make it an extra special day, you can go to brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner at the American Girl Café. Learn more about all of the American Girl Place experiences here.
You can’t go back . . . .
Don’t go back to your house without visiting the Page Musuem, Page Museum La Brea Tar Pits, where you will find the largest and most diverse collection of extinct Ice Age plants and animals in the world. Although, you can’t actually “time travel” back to the last Ice Age, you will learn about Los Angeles as it looked 10,000 – 40,000 years ago!

What a nice gift!
If you were here,we could go to The Griffith Observatory to get a closer look at the sky. The observatory has been in Los Angeles for a long time, although not as long as the sky! It opened its doors for the first time on May 14,1935.
Thanks to Griffith J. Griffith, today this magnificent observatory is enjoyed by visitors to Los Angeles free of charge.
What a nice gift! Have you ever given a nice gift to someone?
Has anyone ever given you an observatory for a present?

Still looking for other things to do?
We could go to the zoo if you were here! The Los Angeles Zoo includes the Winnick Family Children's Zoo where “kids” can help bring a story to life in the Adventure Theater, pet and help groom the animals at Muriel’s Ranch, or just take a little break at Riordan’s Kids’ Korner! We could also visit America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College. This zoo is run by students in the college’s Exotic Animal Training and Management program. We could learn about exotic animals, their habitat and their behavior in a small setting if you were here!
Los Angeles also has an aquarium, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, and a Children's Museum which we could visit if you were here. They are particularly suited for younger children. Or, we could visit the J. Paul Getty Museum which is a treasure for both young and old!
And, what do you think of this? We could cruise on a glass-bottom boat around nearby Catalina Island! Or, perhaps we could have some fun at one of the more than 200 public parks and playgrounds in Los Angeles or just relax on the sand at one of Los Angeles' many beaches! Wow! There are a lot of things that we could do in Los Angeles!
Not ready to say goodbye just yet?
No problem! Check out the many more exciting things to do under “recreation and tourism” here, the official city of Los Angeles website!
